I miss my boy!

My son went away for a 3 day camping trip to Camp Fitch which is up by Lake Erie, about an hour or so north of us. Camp Fitch is sponsored by the YMCA, and this time every year, Summit Academy students go on this trip.

This is my son’s first time away from home – well, except for the occasional overnight at his best friends’ house.  But that’s in town, not an hour away!  I can’t begin to tell you how much I miss him. He’s coming home tomorrow (Wednesday, 3/9/11) and I’ll be at the school to get him with bells on!

I’m really hoping that he enjoyed himself. He’s not an outdoorsy type of kid, preferring an afternoon at his computer or DS or iPod or Wii, to being outside. So I’m guessing three days without his gadgets has been a bit rough on him (they weren’t permitted, YAY!).  I’m looking forward to hearing what all they did. I’ll post about it here.  :)

Let It Snow….

or NOT!

WOW we’ve been getting slammed with the snow this winter.  As of the 13th of December, we’d already broken all snow record totals for the entire month!   I don’t mind it much tho, as long as I’m at home with my mug of hot chocolate.  :)

However, I do wish that my son liked to get out and play in the snow. It would be so much fun to get out there and throw snowballs, or build a snowman, or make a snow angel.  But alas, he’s not an outdoors kinda kid, doesn’t like to play outside in any season, snowy season being no different. :(

Update time!

Got in from work not too long ago (it’s 10:10 am now), but wanted to add a little something here before I hit the sack.

Well, I finally did it. I sold all of my vBulletin licenses and closed all of my forums. I’m free (but not cheap ;) )
I’m definitely going to devote more time to this blog, adding more updates on my son, more tips and stuff for parents of Asperger kids, and just more “stuff” that I like and hope you will too.

Speaking of my son, he’s doing great! His new psychiatrist has re-done some of his meds, taken him off some and added something else, and he is really doing great. His teachers are impressed with his behavior and his new motivation. He is honestly trying, both in school and at home. I’m a happy mama.

Ok I’m off to bed, but I’ll be posting more often, so check back on me! :)

A Mohawk? NOT!

Now I ask you, does this look like a mohawk???   NOT!

Last Day of School

Today is the last day of school. We now have 2 months and 3 weeks ahead of us. For most kids/families, this is ok.
For a child with Asperger Syndrom, and ADHD, this is not cool. At all.

God? Help?? :)
