MVTalk is coming right along
My new site, Mahoning Valley Talk, is coming right along! We have a very nice design, just moved to a new server at Wired Tree, are gaining quite a few Twitter followers, and have a nice Facebook page. I’m very proud of how we’re progressing.
Being a local/regional forum, I’m realizing that it’s going to take quite a bit of work to get locals to join and post on the forum. But I’m not giving up! I will be heading to Staples later today to have flyers made up (at a very nice price – $10 for 100 flyers!), and later on, business cards will be printed. I am excited at the slow-but-sure progress.
If you live anywhere in the Mahoning Valley area (a region that spans NE Ohio and NW Pennsylvania, with Youngstown Ohio right in the center), please feel free to drop by. Oh don’t just drop by, JOIN US, get in on the discussions, get to know us – you’ll be glad you did.
Mahoning Valley Talk
I have opened the doors for Mahoning Valley Talk. A bit earlier than I’d planned to, but what the heck!
I do hope y’all come visit. Even if you don’t live in our area, or even in Ohio, come see us anyway. I won’t kick you out.

Remember that new forum I posted about before? Yep I’m going ahead with it.
Mahoning Valley Talk will be an online community forum for people who live in the Mahoning Valley and surrounding areas in Ohio. You’ll be able to come in and talk about anything and everything – state and local issues, family, kids, dating, marriage, religion (gulp), recipes, entertainment, etc etc etc.
I will be installing the discussion forum in the next few days and designing a theme, setting up categories, etc. If you want to watch the progress, you can visit mahoningvalleytalk.com anytime. That’s the homepage for now, and when the forum is up, I’ll put a link on the page.
MVTalk will be opening on May 1st. So mark your calendars, and join us for some fun. :yay:
New forum
Hey peeps, I’m seriously thinking of starting a regional forum for my area, youngstown and /or northeast Ohio.
The forum would be the typical meet new people, talk about your life, etc. But also to discuss state and local issues, give people a place to vent, etc.
Any thoughts on this?
Love My JRT!
Our new site for owners/fans of Jack Russell Terrier dogs is a hit!! We’ve been open a week now, and have 11 members and quite a bit of activity.
Whether you own a JRT, or another breed of dog, or another pet altogether, you’re welcome to come join us. We’re a friendly, lively bunch.

New Site Opening!
I have a new site opening this week folks! Exciting stuff!
The new site is a discussion site for pet-parents of Jack Russell Terriers – Love My JRT! JRT’s are a blast, and very popular little dogs. If you have, have had, or are just a fan of, Jack Russells’, feel free to come join us. We also have an area for other dog breeds as well.
I look forward to seeing you there and to getting to know you!
My Interview!
Just a few months ago, I got involved with a new forum software, Xenforo. I’ve known the owners/developers, Mike, Kier and Ashley, for some time, and they asked me to become a moderator on the site, which, of course, I accepted. It’s been different, and fun.
A couple of weeks ago, I was asked to be interviewed by one of our more active members, for his popular blog, Beyond Scary. I accepted, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Most important to me, is that I was able to share quite a bit about my son, and Asperger Syndrome. Interestingly enough, the interviewer, Jeff, also has a child with Aspergers!
You’re welcome to read the interview, and comment here.

Thanks!
New Link!
I’ve added a new link under Autism over there —->
This is a great Facebook group. The leader, Jen Donatella, who has 3 autistic sons, started this group, and is very active in the autism community here in NE Ohio. If you’re a member of FB, check it out!
Twitter
Ok, so at first I was really skeptical about Twitter. I mean, who would name something Twitter, if they were really serious about success, right?? But, being the open-minded gal that I am — and let’s face it, the curious type – I had to try it, seeing as how so many of my friends and vB colleagues were using it.
I have since been forced to change my opinion. I’m liking Twitter, alot. Each user has to determine how they use it. From the typical inane messages to promoting businesses and connecting with colleagues daily, it has many many uses. Personally, I’m using it to help promote my business. And by golly, it’s actually working! I’m also able to connect and interact with vB colleagues, friends, and others.
Twitter is interesting, and fun.
